Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12.10.2026

We, Irniger Bluebird Snowsports, a sole proprietorship of Basil Irniger (“Bluebird Snowsports”, “we”, “us”), take the protection of your personal data seriously. This privacy policy explains what personal data we process when you visit our website, contact us or book with us, and why.

We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible

Irniger Bluebird Snowsports
Baselstrasse 13
6003 Lucerne
Switzerland
Email: info@bluebird-snowsports.ch
Website: bluebird-snowsports.ch

2. What we process and why

a) Visiting the website

When you visit our website, we process technical data such as your IP address, the date and time, the pages you open, and browser and device information. We use it to run, secure and improve the website and to fix problems. Our website and email are hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. A security plugin records the IP addresses of suspicious requests to protect the site.

b) Cookies and consent

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies: some are needed for the website and the booking form to work, others only run if you agree. We use Complianz to show the cookie banner and record your choice; you can give, refuse or withdraw consent at any time in the cookie settings. Which cookies we use, and for how long, is listed in our Cookie Policy.

c) Analytics and advertising

Analytics and advertising tools only run after you consent. Without it, no data is sent to Google Analytics, Google Ads or Meta.

  • With consent to statistics, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website and to improve it.
  • With consent to marketing, Google Ads (Google Ireland Limited) and Meta (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) are told when you start and complete a booking, including the order number and the amount, together with cookie identifiers and the technical data described in a). We do not send them your name, email address or phone number. They use this to measure our advertising and may, under their own privacy policies, combine it with information they hold about their users.

d) The map and the phone field

  • The maps on our pages (for example “Plan your day” and the tour pages) load their map tiles from the Swiss Federal Office of Topography (swisstopo, geo.admin.ch). Your browser sends your IP address to swisstopo for this; no cookies are set.
  • To preselect your country’s dialling code, the phone field in the booking form asks IPinfo (ipinfo.io, IPinfo Inc., USA) which country your IP address is in. The answer is kept in a cookie (latepoint_phone_country), so it is only asked once.

e) Contact enquiries

If you contact us by email, phone, contact form or messaging services such as WhatsApp, we process what you tell us (such as your name, contact details and message) to answer you. If your enquiry relates to a booking, we keep it with the booking.

f) Bookings, your account and your lessons

When you book, we process what we need to organise and deliver the lesson:

  • name and contact details
  • booked lessons, dates, times and extras
  • payment status and invoices
  • level, language and notes you give us
  • participants’ names and dates of birth
  • a pickup address, if you book a pickup

Our booking system runs on our own website. You sign in to your account with a code we send to your email address. The instructor of your lesson receives the details needed to teach it, and we enter each lesson (lesson, date and time, participants, name, contact details, pickup address and notes) in our instructors’ Google Calendar to plan the day.

We send you emails about your booking: the confirmation, changes, payment links and invoices, messages from your instructor, and, after your last lesson day, one request to review us. You can tell us at any time that you do not want such requests. Dates of birth are never used for marketing.

If you sign up for a posted tour or week, we keep your name, contact details, the number of people and your note on that date’s list on our website, share them with the date’s guide, and send you the confirmation with a payment link.

g) Bookings made by a partner

If your hotel or another partner books a lesson for you, we receive your name, email address, language and the lesson details from them. The partner sees the lessons it booked and their billing.

h) Payments

Payments are processed by Mollie B.V. (Netherlands) and the payment providers involved, such as banks, card issuers and TWINT. We receive the payment status but do not store full card or account details.

i) AI assistants used by our team

Our team may use AI assistants, for example to look up the day’s lessons. The details needed for such a question may then be processed by the assistant’s provider, which may be located outside Switzerland and the EU, in particular in the USA.

j) Photos and videos

We take photos or videos during lessons only at your request, and never use them for marketing or publish them without your clear prior consent.

3. Who receives personal data

We share personal data only where needed for the purposes above:

  • our hosting provider (Hetzner, Germany), for the website and email
  • our instructors, for the lessons they teach
  • Google, for our instructors’ calendars, and with your consent for analytics and advertising
  • Meta, with your consent, for advertising
  • Mollie and the payment providers involved
  • swisstopo, for the map tiles, and IPinfo, for the phone field’s country
  • providers of AI assistants our team uses
  • partners, for the bookings they make
  • authorities, where the law requires it

We do not sell personal data.

4. Data outside Switzerland

Some of these providers process data outside Switzerland and the EU/EEA, in particular in the USA (Google, Meta, IPinfo, AI assistants). Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

5. How long we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as needed for these purposes or as the law requires:

  • enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 6 months
  • bookings, invoices and payments: 10 years, as Swiss accounting law requires
  • cookies: as listed in the Cookie Policy

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask what personal data we hold about you
  • have incorrect data corrected
  • have data deleted or its processing restricted, where the law allows
  • object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

To use these rights, contact us at the address in section 1. You can also lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, with your data protection authority.

7. Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this privacy policy. The version published on our website applies; the date at the top shows when it was last changed.
